Master of Engineering at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering

The University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME) has a history of defining new fields of study. In fact, we’re the first school in the nation dedicated to molecular engineering, which applies molecular-level science to solve pressing real-world issues like clean water and energy, quantum science and technology, and advanced medical solutions and devices.

Join us and pursue a Master of Engineering (MEng) program for innovators. Our program prepares students to successfully pursue highly impactful engineering projects, demonstrating both leadership skills and technical excellence, quickly advancing your career in industry or academia.

Students can choose to complete the program in one year, with part-time options available to accommodate a summer internship or simultaneous employment. As well, our students come from a variety of traditional engineering backgrounds as well as from the natural sciences, joined together by their desire to design solutions to problems that impact human lives.

PME’s faculty members are on the cutting edge of their fields, including 26% of faculty members of a national academy. Through interactive, interdisciplinary classes, you’ll build valuable technical and leadership skills to get your ideas heard.

Award-Winning Faculty

The MEng degree prepares students for leadership positions in entrepreneurship and established industries, offering a blend of technical and professional education.

Students receive personalized academic advising with our flexible curriculum, ensuring a customized educational experience tailored to individual career goals.

Engage with industry leaders and benefit from PME’s extensive network, including the rich UChicago intellectual ecosystem of the Booth School of Business, the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the Harris School of Public Policy, as well as Argonne National Laboratory.
