The University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (UChicago PME) has a history of defining new fields of study. As the first school in the nation dedicated to molecular engineering, UChicago PME applies molecular-level science to challenges including water scarcity, quantum information, healthcare, sustainable materials, and energy storage.
The Master of Engineering combines interdisciplinary technical study with leadership development, professional connections, and career preparation, helping you build the skills to turn engineering ideas into real-world impact.

Learn From Leading Faculty
Choose an MEng that aligns with your professional experience and career goals:
- Four-Quarter, Full-Time: Complete coursework in autumn, winter, spring, and a second autumn, with a summer practicum in between spring and the second autumn. This path is typically suited to students without prior professional experience who plan to pursue careers in industry or government.
- Three-Quarter, Full-Time: Complete coursework in autumn, winter, and spring. This option is suited to students with prior professional experience or those planning to pursue further education.
- Part-Time: Complete the nine-course program over four or more quarters, subject to approval, with the summer available for a practicum.
